A thriving Sonoma County agricultural business seeks an efficient and highly competent professional to handle safety, extensive training and general HR administration for a large and fluctuating field work force.
You will work closely with field managers to ensure an informed and healthy labor force; provide safety training; document and coordinate hiring and terminations; support with recruiting and conduct new hire orientations; provide ongoing training and coaching to supervisors as needed; promote positive employee relations; explain employee benefits and perform a variety of other duties that support the company safety, training and HR programs.
This position requires intense coordination and organization of paperwork, electronic files, spreadsheets, supplies, calendaring, time management and people.
The qualified candidate brings a high level of professionalism and discretion, good judgment, flexibility with a team focus, strong communication skills effective within all levels of the business, an attention to detail with solid accuracy and enjoys providing effective customer service to employees. The ability to understand the current needs of the field managers and then communicate in a timely manner and respond accordingly is critical for success.
Four to five years of related experience is required. An AA degree and HR certification are a plus. Knowledge of HR standard practices, compliance and safety regulations within the vineyard or agricultural industry are necessary. Payroll knowledge is helpful. Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook and HRIS systems are essential. A valid CA. driver’s license is mandatory.
