DEIB 103: Microaggressions

Creating an inclusive workplace requires leaders, teams, and individuals to pay attention to the subtle ways in which they exclude or convey negative messages to individuals based on aspects of their identity through language or behavior.

In this course, participants will learn what microaggressions are, examine the impact of microaggressions on others, and learn how to respond to them as a bystander and as the target of them.

Learning Objectives

To recognize the subtle and covert ways that racism and discrimination are conveyed through speech and behavior.
To understand the impact that microaggressions have in the workplace.
To be able to apply strategies that address, interrupt, and intervene when microaggressions are present.
